Avandia is a drug made by GlaxoSmithKline and taken by diabetics everywhere. It was released in 1999; by 2006, over 13 million people were taking the drug to regulate their blood-sugar levels. However, as early as 2001, the FDA released information that the drug led to a heightened risk of heart disease and heart attack. Today, the drug is still available in the U.S. market and some diabetics still rely on it daily. If you are taking Avandia, talk to your doctor about the health risks it poses. If you have experienced a heart attack or stroke while using Avandia, look into filing an Avandia lawsuit. You may be entitled to compensation for damages. Have you or a loved on experienced a stroke or heart attack while taking the diabetes drug Avandia? You may be entitled to compensation for the damage or loss. At least 13,000 Avandia lawsuits have been filed to date and GlaxoSmithKline has set aside money in anticipation of more settlements. While no class action lawsuits have been filed to date, you may contact an Avandia lawyer to learn about your rights. If you are still taking Avandia, be sure to talk with your physician about the health risks associated with long-term use of the drug and read the product warning that comes in the box.
